For the past year or so I’ve been running a referral scheme whereby if someone refers a client to me, then they get 10% of the value of the first invoice. This can run from getting a few beers for a referrer to sending a decent chunk of cash their way.

I’ve probably paid out a few grand at this point, and I find doing this to be a simple and effective method of getting decent, qualified leads.

Referrals are usually made because the person referring is either too busy or the job doesn’t match their skillset, so this gives others a simple way of extracting a little cash from a prospect that was going to have to be referred anyhow without having to subcontract and become a project manager.

So: If you have a project that you can’t book in, get in touch!
